A closer look at this popular way of straightening teeth discreetly for our Surbiton patients.
Braces are a treatment we commonly prescribe for children with misaligned or crooked teeth, and the standard metal brace is something many people will recognise as a part of their childhood. However, as adults, visible braces aren’t something many of us would necessarily opt for, and we find many people would rather suffer with crooked or misaligned teeth than wear a brace that is visible.
Cosmetic dentistry has advanced a lot over the years and there are now several different types of braces available for people who want to be discreet about their dental treatment. One of the most popular discreet brace treatments we offer at our Surbiton dentist is Invisalign.
Invisalign is the most well known, longest established orthodontic provider of clear braces. Invisalign are not fixed, and are completely removable, acting as an efficient and discreet alternative to traditional braces. They work using transparent removable aligners that slowly readjust the teeth.
Invisalign is the perfect solution for people who want their smile improving but do not want traditional fixed metal braces. Some of the benefits of choosing Invisalign are;
Discreet, near invisible braces for pleasing cosmetic results
The ability to remove braces for easy oral hygiene maintenance
Provided by Dr Jignesh Patel, a certified and registered provider of Invisalign
Made to measure aligners
Ability to see a simulation of the final result
How Does It Work?
When you come in to our Surbiton dentist about this popular cosmetic dentistry treatment, we will provide you with an extensive, free consultation where we will talk through the Invisalign treatment to you and answer any questions you may have. Following your consultation we will book you in for a second appointment where we will record and photograph your teeth as they are at the beginning of the process. These records are sent across to the USA where Invisalign headquarters are. After a few days you will then be able to see a clinic check simulation which enables you to see the progress that will be made using the aligners, and you will be able to see the final result as well. Once you and Dr Patel are satisfied with the final results that can be provided by Invisalign, you will then progress to the next stage of the treatment. Adjustments can be made during this stage as well.
After this has been done we will then create some made-to-measure aligners for you. These will need to be worn all the time, apart from when you eat or when you clean your teeth. Then after around two weeks, we will need to have a new set made for you as they will be in a different position to when you started the process. This sequence then continues until your teeth have reached the desired position.
