At our local Surbiton dentist we offer a wide range of excellent general treatments, but we are also well known for providing some of the most advanced cosmetic dentistry treatments currently available too.
One of the popular treatments we offer is the Inman Aligner, which you may have not heard of unless you have met someone who has actually benefited from it.
The Inman Aligner forms part of our teeth straightening services, which improve the confidence and smile aesthetics of patients. They also contribute greatly towards good dental hygiene. When you think about orthodontics you may think about the traditional braces that were considered to be unsightly, particularly if you have to wear them as an adult.
However, there have been massive advances in orthodontics over the last few years, enabling patients to enjoy aesthetically pleasing teeth straightening; and Confidental are at the forefront. Part of what we offer is the Inman Aligner system, designed to straighten out front teeth easily, quickly, painlessly and at a reasonable cost.
What Is It?
The Inman Aligner is a brace designed to straighten the front teeth. Designed to align the upper and lower front teeth gently and safely, it is worn between about 16 and 20 hours a day and is removed when you eat and when you brush your teeth. Patients opting for this type of aligner will usually have a specific issue with the alignment of the forefront teeth, rather than all of the teeth or the alignment of their bite.
How Does It Work?
The Inman Aligner works using a coiled spring fitted behind the teeth that need straightening, and a very thin metal wire which fits over the front of the teeth. The two combined push and pull the teeth gently into alignment.
How Long Does Inman Aligner Take To Work?
It is very individual as to how long the aligners take to work depending on the patient’s personal needs. The results are very quick compared to traditional braces with some people only needing them for 6 weeks, others up to 16; which tends to be the longest anyone needs to wear the brace.
Will It Hurt?
The treatment itself is extremely gentle, but you may experience some slight discomfort in the first couple of weeks after having them fitted while you get used to them. If discomfort continues your Surbiton dentist can provide various solutions to help. Most patients will have an adjustment period before quickly getting used to the aligners and failing to notice them in at all.
Do They Work?
We have many patients who have had absolutely fantastic dental results with Inman Aligners. Usually we will only recommend these aligners when the forefront teeth are the only teeth needing straightening, compared to the entire set of teeth.
