Implant Retained Dentures

How do they Work?

Confidental Clinic Surbiton offer the complete range of implant solutions that can help restore missing teeth.

When multiple teeth are missing, an implant retained denture is a cost effective way of providing stable and comfortable removable teeth and can help stabilise existing dentures.

What is an Implant Over-Denture?

This is a removable device fitted over 2 or 4 implant and can be designed to fit over your gums and the dental implants for stability,

  • Improves stability and functionality to 60% compared to natural teeth
  • Relatively inexpensive tooth and gum replacement
  • Provides lip support and can reduce wrinkles caused by loss of facial support
  • Easy to clean outside of mouth

  • Remove and clean denture outside of mouth
  • May still move when chewing or speaking
  • May require relines to improve fit and comfort as underlying bone shrinks

What is Involved?

You will be seen at Confidental Clinic Surbiton by our Implantologist, Dr Patel for an assessment who will help you decide on your treatment options.  At this stage the number and position of the implants will be decided.
Following this a provisional denture trial is designed in terms of shape, size and aesthetics either before implants have been placed.  This can be used as a guide to place the implants.

The implants are then placed as per the normal routine and allowed to heal.  Once healed, impressions will be taken of the position of the implants.   Using the previous trial denture appearance and the new impression, a new implant retained denture is made along with clips or magnets that connect to the placed implants.

The aesthetics and fit and be tweaked and adjusted further where needed before being processed giving you a beautiful and confident smile.
