Simple customised home teeth whitening kits from our Surbiton dental practice.
Christmas is a time when we are probably least concerned about how our teeth look. With the kids presents and getting the food prepared for Christmas dinner, there usually isn’t much time to think of anything else.
Once the festive season is over though, many of us will start to assess some of the changes that we hope to make from January onwards. Often, these will involve self improvement and ways to change our appearance for the better.
One of the ways in which we can help you, at your Confidental dentist in Surbiton, is with our bespoke home teeth whitening kits. Unlike those purchased from commercial outlets, these are specifically designed for both comfort and effectiveness and are specific to each individual. These whitening kits will help to greatly improve the brightness of your teeth, often to a significant degree, and can have additional benefits such as increased confidence. In addition to this, they are affordable and are designed to be used in the comfort of your own home.
Initially, you will be invited for a consultation with our Surbiton cosmetic dentist where we will examine your general oral health and also discuss your hopes and aims from having this treatment. Once this has been discussed, impressions will then be taken of your teeth and sent to a laboratory where the trays that will hold the bleaching agent will be produced. When ready, we will check to ensure that they fit securely in order to prevent leakage of the bleaching agent onto the soft tissues of the mouth.
You will be given the whitening gel which is to be placed into the trays and worn for a few hours at a time. This process usually continues for around two weeks, although some of our patients have opted to finish earlier, being satisfied with a lesser whiteness they feel is most natural and which they are comfortable with.
Renewing the whiteness
After a couple of weeks or so, you should notice a big improvement in the whiteness of your teeth. This will last for some months before starting to slowly darken again due the natural processes inside the teeth and day-to-day challenges from food and drinks that stain, such as coffee and wine. This is completely natural but your teeth can be whitened again when you wish to maintain your new smile.
There are very few risks to teeth whitening done in this manner, providing there is professional supervision. As you already have the whitening trays, repeat treatment will be considerably cheaper than your initial teeth whitening.
If you would like to start 2017 with a new white smile or would like to enquire about any of our other cosmetic dental procedures at our Surbiton dental practice, please call the Confidental Clinic on 020 8399 1291 to arrange your consultation.
